Dahab, an 18 year old Egyptian citizen, was arrested at nearly 9 months pregnant for walking in the street near a demonstration on her way to get blood tests. While shackled to a hospital bed, the young lady gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named “Hurriyah,” which means Freedom. The authorities would not even release her to properly nurse her newborn. After media pressure, the authorities finally released Dahab. As is customary in Egypt, friends and family threw a party for Dahab and her new baby 7 days after delivery. The coup authorities raided the party and arrested all the guests. The authorities’ lack of valid justification for such actions is representative of the way this military coup operates. Even with their illegitimate shackles, the coup authorities could not prevent the birth of FREEDOM in Egypt!
